Wynn Resort on Track for a Grand Opening in Early 2027

Wynn Al Marjan, the UAE’s first integrated gaming resort, is right on schedule for its anticipated Q1 2027 debut, according to Donald Bremner, COO of RAK Hospitality. Speaking at Ras Al Khaimah’s Seven Wonders event, Bremner assured that the resort’s progress is moving smoothly with no signs of delay.

Wynn Al Marjan’s Skyline Transformation

The $3.9 billion Wynn Al Marjan project has already reshaped Ras Al Khaimah’s skyline, with its structure now standing over 90 meters tall, marking it as the tallest building in the emirate. Construction is currently moving past the 15th floor, promising to bring the vision of a premium beachfront resort to life.

The resort, Wynn Resorts’ first beachfront property, will cover 62 hectares on Al Marjan Island. This impressive development includes 1,542 rooms and suites, 22 luxury villa estates along a new marina, and a sprawling 3.6-hectare poolscape with pools, water features, and private cabanas.

Expansion Signals Long-Term Confidence in RAK

In a strategic move to secure a greater stake in the region, Wynn Resorts recently acquired an additional 70 acres on Al Marjan Island, giving them ownership of all 155 acres on Island 3, where the resort will be based. Craig Billings, CEO of Wynn Resorts, noted that the UAE represents “the most exciting new market” for the industry in recent decades.

The resort’s gaming area, the first in the UAE, will cover about 4 percent of the hotel’s total footprint, with a primary focus on luxury and entertainment.

A New Era for Ras Al Khaimah’s Tourism

The Wynn Al Marjan development is set to serve as a powerful catalyst for tourism in Ras Al Khaimah, with predictions that it will help draw over 5 million visitors by 2030. This aligns with Ras Al Khaimah’s vision to triple its international tourism numbers to 3.5 million by decade’s end.

The resort will go beyond gaming, featuring 22 restaurants, lounges, theaters, and bars, each with unique designs. A 15,000-square-meter shopping promenade will host luxury boutiques, while wellness seekers can enjoy a five-star spa and salon. Additionally, a 7,500-square-meter events center will be available for conferences and celebrations.

Construction kicked off in early 2023, led by UAE-based ALEC Engineering and Contracting. With the final tower expected to exceed 300 meters, Wynn Al Marjan is set to be a landmark that solidifies Ras Al Khaimah’s position as a luxury tourism destination in the Middle East.
